As built upon an ancient fortress presumed to be of half-orc design, Cyrand stands as the main stronghold near the Cyrunias northern border. With its clever design and efficient warning system reaching far up to the neighbouring kingdoms, its occupation was never thought possible. Therefore a complete surprise was the total fall of the Cyrunian forces, who were left completely helpless against the roaring blackened knights, eventually becoming destroyed in a mere weeks time.
The few who managed to flee from the black tornados grasp, reported of the first days of the siege as being normal, but as soon as the main tower was lost to the enemy, the coming night changed everything. During a silent hour, a strange light was seen coming from the tower. After the twinking changed to a constant beam of light, from there on the blackened hordes seemed to obtain some unfathomable anger and resiliance to fatique. This was the end of the already tired Cyrunian defenders.
As the area north is vast, roadless wasteland, the origin of the enemy has been hard to determine. The population living east of the Sea of Mist are in peace with Cyrunia, so the most likely origin is thought to be in the northwest, beyond the uncharted seas. The light in the tower also remains a mystery, but speculations keep telling more and more, that the crystalline throne there, having stayed still on its place since the half-orcs´ installation, is now awakened…
